The Diamond Head Crater Trail is a 1.6-mile round-trip hike to the rim of an extinct volcanic crater with 360-degree views of Waikiki, the Pacific, and the Koolau mountains. The trail climbs about 560 feet through switchbacks, two tunnels and a final staircase to a WWII bunker at the summit.
Out-of-state visitors must reserve entry online 14 days in advance. The earliest 6:00 AM slot is the only way to catch sunrise from the rim.
