Jungle valleys and movie-set backcountry

ATV & Off-Road Tours in Oahu

Oahu's ATV tours run through some of the most filmed landscapes on earth — Kualoa Ranch's Ka'a'awa Valley alone has appeared in Jurassic Park, Lost and dozens of other productions. You'll ride dirt trails through jungle valleys, past movie sets and up to panoramic lookouts over the coast. Expect to get dusty (or muddy — often the highlight). Below is the ATV experience we currently feature.

How to choose

  • Solo ATV vs. multi-passenger UTV: solo riders need to meet minimum age requirements (usually 16+); families with younger kids should book a UTV with a guide driving.
  • Wear clothes you don't mind ruining — red dirt stains, and rain turns trails into mud runs.
  • Book the earliest tour of the day for cooler temperatures and better light at the lookouts.
  • Most tours include goggles and helmets; bring a bandana or buy a dust mask on site.

Best time to go

ATV tours run year-round, rain or shine — many riders prefer light rain for the mud. Summer is drier and dustier; winter is muddier. Morning tours are cooler and less crowded.

Frequently asked questions

How old do you have to be to drive an ATV in Oahu?

Most operators require drivers to be at least 16 with a valid ID. Younger children can usually ride as passengers in multi-seat UTVs driven by a guide or parent.

How much do Oahu ATV tours cost?

Expect $120–$180 per person for a 2-hour guided tour at Kualoa Ranch or similar properties.

Do I need experience to ride an ATV?

No. Tours start with a safety briefing and practice lap, and guides set a pace the whole group can handle.
