The USS Arizona, the Missouri and the story of December 7

Pearl Harbor Tours in Oahu

Pearl Harbor is the most-visited historic site in Hawaii, and the one attraction where planning genuinely matters: USS Arizona Memorial programs are timed, bags aren't allowed, and the full experience — Arizona, Battleship Missouri, Bowfin submarine and the Aviation Museum — can fill an entire day. A guided tour handles the logistics (tickets, transport, timing) so you can focus on the history. Below is the Pearl Harbor experience we currently feature.

How to choose

  • Decide your scope first: Arizona-only visits take half a day; the full 'Passport to Pearl Harbor' covers all four sites and takes 7–9 hours.
  • Guided tours from Waikiki include transport and reserved Arizona program times — the simplest option for first-timers.
  • Going independently? Reserve the $1 Arizona program ticket on recreation.gov exactly 24 hours or 8 weeks ahead — they go fast.
  • No bags allowed (clear bag policy). Bring only phone, wallet, camera and water.

Best time to go

Pearl Harbor is open year-round except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Arrive for the first programs (7–8 AM) to beat crowds and heat. December 7 anniversary week is the busiest and most moving time to visit.
